Positive hunting dog training course available online
The DS510: Gun Dog Foundations course is the best source of information I've found so far with regards to the training of a hunting dog in a positive way, whether it is a pointer, a flusher, a retriever or a versatile gundog.
This training is given by Cassia Turcotte of the Fenzi Academy (fenziacademy.com). It contains nearly a hundred pages of "lectures" and fifty short videos
Fenzi Academy courses are available online at a reasonable cost (US $ 65 for the bronze version), they are well done and very detailed. You will find on the site a complete description of each course, the prerequisites, a presentation of each teacher.
The courses are offered in 3 formats: "bronze", "silver" and "gold".
The "bronze" version allows us to see the "lectures" and the videos of the course, to attend the exchanges between the students of the "silver" and "gold" formats and to watch the videos submitted by the gold students as well as read the exchanges between them and the teacher.
The "silver" version offers the advantages of the "bronze" version, but in addition, students can submit questions to the teacher and get answers.
The "gold" version, in addition to the benefits of the "silver" version, allows students to submit videos of their dog's progress and get feedback from the teacher.
I have taken several courses in this academy, always in the bronze format, and I must say that they were so detailed that I had no questions for the teacher.
This course begins on the 1st of February 2017, it is possible to register from January 22 to February 15 (see: http://www.fenzidogsportsacademy.com/index.php/courses/7054#course-details ). It is available in English only.I will eventually make a synthesis in French and in English that I will deposit on my website.
